Eli Roth Admits Most Of ‘Ice Cream Man’ Not Made Using AI

LOS ANGELES—In an apology to the artistic community, director Eli Roth admitted Monday that most of horror film Ice Cream Man was not made using AI. “I know this is a disappointment to many of my friends and fellow filmmakers, but this film was largely made using humans,” said Roth, who confirmed what many viewers had wondered after the trailer for his new movie appeared to show several shots not made with the use of generative AI. “I know this won’t be popular, but I came up with the idea for ice cream that turns children into homicidal maniacs all on my own and wrote the script as a pastiche of classic slasher films and recent horror hits without the assistance of an LLM. I’m sure this is tough to hear for a lot of artists, but the truth is that what you see on screen in Ice Cream Man is almost entirely created by humans.” Roth went on to specifically apologize to the effects artists who had lost out on job opportunities after having their names associated with the film.
