NEW YORK—Responding to the question of what she believed was the biggest misconception the public had about her, pop star Tate McRae revealed to reporters Friday that if she ever stopped dancing she would die. “Many people think dancing is my passion—it is not,” said the “Housewife” and “Sports Car” singer, who emphasized that when she tells people she has been dancing her “whole life,” she truly means she has been dancing her whole life. “Much like a shark cannot stop swimming lest it drowns, I cannot stop performing tilts and body rolls. The only time my body—and my soul—rests is when I drop into the splits. Is it biological? Is it supernatural? I do not know. All I know is that it’s ‘dance or die’ until my last breath. So maybe remember this next time you think about criticizing my ‘overwrought’ choreography.” McRae added that if she sang through her diaphragm, she would also die.
